„Me Made May“ ist eines von diesen Phänomenen. Herrje.
There some things on the Internet that cross your path time and again and one day you’re starting to wonder what it’s all about. „Me Made May“ is one of these things. I’ve noticed it in some blogs, looked at pictures but realized much too late what it actually meant and that it seemed like an incredibly cool idea. So I wasn’t able to participate this year. Sigh. Maybe next time. But don’t hold your breath since it’s obviously already June and I’m talking about Me Made May here. Jeesh.
Was ist „Me Made May“?
Alright, so what exactly is „Me Made May“? Zoe from sozowhatdoyouknow.blogspot.co.uk and organizer of the whole things says the following:
Me-Made-May’14 (MMM’14 for short) is a challenge designed to encourage people who sew/knit/crochet/refashion/upcycle garments for themselves to actuallywear and love them.
This year I really had some good knitting intentions for the month of May. I’ve wanted to finish some projects that have been laying around for way too long and I’ve been thinking of maybe trying something new along the way.
Definitiv im Mai fertig geworden:
My success projects for May:
Not nearly finished but still made some progress on a Baby’s First Fair Isle Sweater for little Mr. T. Hoping to have it done by late summer. It should still fit then and would get him through the next cold season.
And then something new for fun. Been wanting to try sewing a simple peasant skirt for the longest time now. The cotton fabric is something of a vintage item since it’s already been lying around my grandmother’s attic for about 30 years before it moved into my fabric stash. I simply sewed together three pieces of fabric along the selvedge, sewed a tunnel on the top part, hemmed the bottom part with a decorative machine stitch. Finished it off by threading an elastic through the tunnel et voilà. All done. I really don’t know wether I will actually wear it but it turned out nice enough with minimal effort. That’s what I adore about sewing as opposed to knitting and crochet. Dear daughter also got a little skirt out of some cute pastel fabric with pretty little birds going in all directions.
