Berenice for Berenike

Berenice Sweater

Berenice Sweater by Julie Hoover (published in BT Kids)

Vacation time is long past, school holidays are over tomorrow and the regularly scheduled life is about to begin anew. I can honestly say that I am quite happy for school to start again after the customary 6 weeks hiatus. While „vacation“ always sounds so nice in the beginning it does certainly come with its own pitfalls and stress factors. At least I got SOME knitting done.

The Berenice sweater was such a delight to knit. It went quickly and Geilsk Bomull go Uld held double worked up quickly. The color is a pale lavender and it’s very soft and cozy. It also shows cable details and lace nicely.

I’ve decided to go with the size 6 yrs based mostly on the fact that the sweater looks nicer with only one cable framing the lace panel. My daughter is 7 years and thanks to a slightly larger gauge the sweater fits well with still a bit of room. I maybe should have added some length but forgot and just went with the pattern instead.

I would love to have one of those for myself 🙂

Details
Needle: US 4 – 3.5 mm
Yarn: Geilsk 2 ply Bomuld go uld; used not quite 2.5 skeins
Colorway: Violet C11
