Nach sieben Tagen Warten hatte sich unsere Maus in der Nacht zum Sonntag auf den Weg gemacht. Und sie hatte es offenbar mächtig eilig. Um 1:30 Uhr haben wir uns mit unserer lieben Hebamme im Krankenhaus getroffen und um kurz vor vier war Berenike auch schon da. Die Geburt war komplikationslos, wenn sie mich doch auch etwas überrollt hat in ihrer Geschwindigkeit. Aber ich kann mich nicht beklagen. Besser so als anders. Zwei Tage später durften wir mit unserer putzmunteren Motte nach Hause und hier umsorgt uns der stolze Papa nun ganz liebevoll. Berenike ist ein wahres Sonntagskind und macht uns bisher nur Freude. Sie ist so ein ausgeglichener Sonnenschein.

For seven days she kept us waiting just to kick off all the more forcefully the night before Sunday. And obviously she found it was high time to make an appearance. After arriving at the hospital at 1.30 am to meet the midwife Berenike came into this world at 3.58 am. The birth went without complications even though it might have been a tad too fast for my taste. But I won’t complain, really. Two days later we were allowed to go home with a healthy and well-adjusted baby. She’s a true Sunday child, a real sunshine.
