Holy Moly!

Hole in lace shawl

Oh my gosh! Where did those holes come from?!

Mended lace shawl

Puh, found a way to mend them!

Uff. Was bin ich erleichert.

Last week I had to face a shocking discovery. There where FOUR holes in my beloved Icarus shawl! My first thought was: Oh my gosh, MOTHS!!!!! Thankfully further investigation showed none of the other signs of moth investation. I guess the shawl simply fell victim to the various velcro closures on my allweather jacket and my messenger bag. Evilly lace yarn is a single yarn and not much thicker than sewing thread in some places. The loose gauge couldn’t compensate I guess. The left-over yarn was still in my left-over box and after a bit of winding off and colour comparison the holes were mended at least halfway invisible. Ufff. What a relief.
