Do you know Attic24? It’s a blog by the incredibly talented Lucy of Attic24 and she’s been dazzling us with her colorful crochet creations for quite some time. Actually, back in 2011 it was her wonderful blankets that got me to dig out some hooks and yarn and give crochet another try – for what felt like the 100th time. It has never stuck before, why should it now? Well, her tutorials are great for the beginner and her beautiful projects and inspiring pictures do all the motivating you need.
My latest infatuation with Lucy goodness is the Cozy Stripe Blanket. I started this one as a stash buster for all the left overs from the other baby blankets and to add something to the gift stash. But after seeing all those wonderful Cozy Stripe Blankes on Ravelry I could not resist and ordered a box of the much acclaimed Stylecraft Special DK yarn that seems to be Lucy’s staple. I am looking forward giving this yarn a try. Normally I am very hesitant against 100% acrylic yarn but I can see the practical side of it for blankets and other hard-wearing item. After I’m done with my current baby-sized Cozy Stripe Blanket I’ll be diving into this lot of colorful acrylic and finally try a larger blanket. Or maybe squeeze in a round cushion cover first? Ah, the possibilities.
