A while ago I saw the cute baby jacket in Cecie’s blog and I knew I had to knit one, too. Instead of the stated Alpaca yarn by Drops I used a lofty bamboo yarn which somehow seemed more appropriate for the warmer season. Plus, it’s machine washable. Who wants to wash baby clothes by hand, I ask you?! I am particularily enamoured with the cute picot edging 🙂
Details
Yarn: Uschi Bambusgarn from REAL (German grocery chain); 60% bamboo/40% polyacrylic; 100 g/300 m
Needles: 3.5 mm
Finished size: 56/62; 3 months
Pattern changes: I used the instructions for the second smallest size (62/68). On top of that I cast on less stitches than stated for the arms since the required amount seemed to get me sleeves twice as long as stated in the pattern. On hindsight I should probably have reduced the stitches even more since the sleeves are still way too long, even with the required turning of the cuffs. Ah, well anyway. It’s a cute little thing and I’m thinking about doing a pair of matching pants.
