Baby’s First Fair Isle sweater

Tadaaaaa! Ein schneller Endspurt, ein Trip durchs Waschbecken und fertig ist der Fair Isle Pullover für eine ganz süße Maus. Wie schon im letzten Eintrag vermutet, passt das Stück perfekt – bis auf die zu langen Ärmel. Die scheinen eine Schwäche von mir zu sein. Aber aufgetrennt wird nicht, keine Chance. Ärmel kann man ja schließlich umkrempeln. Ich bin megastolz und die Trägerin auch. Sieht man doch, oder?! ;o)

Tadaaaaa! A couple of hours busy knitting, a trip through the washbasin and enter Fair Isle mini sweater. As suspected last time it’s fitting perfectly. Yeah, well, admittedly the sleeves are a tad too long. Must be a serious issue of mine. But there is no way I’ll rip them back. That’s what turning up is for. I’m mightily proud and the wearer is too, obviously ;o)

Yarn: Opal Sock Yarn uni (Fb. 1999), Trekking XXL color (Fb. 76)
Needles: 2.5 mm
Gauge: ca. 30 sts. per 10 cm, closer to 32 sts. probably
Pattern: The Fair Isle pattern is a 10-stitch-repeat. It was taken from Jade Starmore’s ‚Heraldic Lion‘ sweater out of her book ‚A Collector’s Item‘. The pattern makes up the background of J. Starmore’s sweater and its a wonderful pattern for a beginner’s Fair Isle project. The repeat is short, easy to memorize and the yarn has to be stranded over short distances only.
Size: To get a baby sized sweater I cast-on 180 stitches which got me a circumference of 54 cm. Its closest to baby size 62-68, I would guess.
