Bei traumhaft sommerlichem Wetter habe ich heute auf dem Balkon die frische Luft genossen, ein bißchen an einem simplen Raglan-von-oben in dem tollen Leinen-Seiden-Garn gestrickt und ein neues Garn für ein – ober besser gesagt noch ein – neues Projekt angestrickt. Angetan hat es mir das Garn „Linova“ von ggh, welches zu 74% aus Baumwolle und 26% Leinen besteht. Ich hatte diese Woche mal ein Knäuel in einem hellen eisgrün zum Probieren mitgenommen. Es verstrickt sich ganz toll und ich denke ich habe ein schönes Projekt dafür gefunden – auf Anhieb rief der Gyrid aus Elsebeth Lavolds Buch „Designer’s Chose – Book 1 – The Viking Knits Collection“ nach mir. Die Maschenprobe entspricht fast haargenau der in der Anleitung geforderten und die Zöpfe heben sich schöne von linken Grund ab. Der kommt auf jeden Fall auf meine Liste.

Today I was thoroughly enjoying the nice summer weather on my balcony knitting a few rounds on a simple top-down raglan summer t-shirt in a gorgeous magenta linen-silk yarn and doing some swatching with a new yarn. For a try I bought this skein of „Linova“ by ggh in a light shade of icy green – it’s not mint, nor is it a turquoise – last week at a local yarn shop. I thought the fiber content (74% cotton, 26% linen) was just great for a summer yarn. Well, obviously Gyrid from Elsebeth Lavold’s „Designer’s Chose – Book 1 – The Viking Knits Collection“ has been calling to me right from the start and now I think I’ve got the perfect yarn for it. The gauge is practically a perfect match and I love the way the cables show on the plain reverse stockinette ground. And the Linova yarn knits up nicely, very even with a of a texture due to the linen. This one is definitely on my to buy and do list now.
