Rainbow Sock Yarn

Märchenwolle hand-spun, n-plied

Vor einigen Wochen habe ich im Baumarkt in der Bastelabteilung Märchenwolle in 50 g Abpackungen gesehen und mochte die Farbmischung so gern, dass ich gleich zwei Päckchen gekauft habe, mit dem Plan, diese zu Sockengarn zu verspinnen. Diese Woche ist der erste Strang fertig geworden. Ich habe die Wolle mit einem sehr starken Drall sehr dünn gesponnen und sie dann mit sich selbst verzwirnt (aka Navajo zwirnen). Das Garn gefällt mir sehr gut.

Some weeks ago I found this lovely magic wool at my local DIY store. It came in little 50 gram bags assorted in a rainbow array of colors. I instantly loved it and decided to buy two bags to make some rainbow sock yarn out of it. Last week I finished the first skein and it turned out really nice. I did spin it with a fair amount of twist and plied it back on itself (aka Navajo plying) to maintain the color rapport.
