Babydecke – Opal Regenbogen Sockengarn

Diese Woche nun habe ich die letzen Reihen der schier endlos erscheinenden Borte zu Ende gestrickt, während ich nebenbei Aufzeichnungen von CSI und Law&Order geschaut habe. Gestern drehte die Decke dann noch eine Runde in der Waschmaschine und über Nacht schließlich wurde sie gespannt. Die Babydecke ist nach dem Waschen und Spannen doch etwas größer als gedacht geworden aber nun ist sie kuschelig weich und die Streifen des Sockengarns finde ich total witzig.
Der schicke, weiße und obendrein superbequme Korbstuhl ist übrigens eine Neuerwerbung von Ikea und ziert nun das Kinderzimmer.

Finally! Last week I managed to knit the last rows of a seemingly endless lace border on my striped baby blanket while watching a couple of recorded CSI and Law&Order episodes. Yesterday the whole thing took a trip through the washing machine and blocking happened over night. Somehow it came out considerably larger than calculated but the blanket is nicely soft now and I love the stripey effect of the Opal rainbow sock yarn.
The lovely white and incredibly comfy wicker chair is a brand new acquisition from Ikea and it fits nicely into the new baby room.

Details
Pattern: Simple square knitted from the center outwards. I started with 8 stitches and kept increasing 8 stitches (2 per corner) on every second round. The lacy border is a slightly altered version of the diamond edging in „Victorian Lace Today“.
Yarn: 340 grams (app. 3.5 skeins) of Opal sock yarn, colorway: Regenbogen | Rainbow
Needles: 3.25 mm
Size: 110 cm x 110 cm, slightly blocked
